Data sources
BRIA combines Kenyan public records and licensed datasets into one cited risk view per company. We publish source families here — not a full inventory. The complete list, ingestion cadence, and partner feeds are part of our product and shared with customers under pilot agreements.
Why we do not list every feed publicly. Which registers, outlets, and proprietary datasets we wire together — and how we match entities across them — is core to BRIA. Your report always cites the primary record behind each flag; that is what auditors need, not our full supplier map.
What we monitor (by category)
These are the types of authoritative records in the BRIA corpus today. Each category may include multiple underlying sources, refreshed on its own schedule.
| Category | Typical signals |
|---|---|
| Courts & litigation | Commercial disputes, insolvency, and other judgments where the company appears as a party. |
| Official gazette | Winding-up petitions, strike-offs, regulatory announcements, and other published actions. |
| Public procurement | Debarment and restriction signals for government-facing suppliers. |
| Sector regulators | Licensing registers, enforcement actions, and published sanctions where authorisation is required. |
| Adverse media | Materially adverse press coverage tied to the searched entity. |
| Director & network | Linked appointments and shared exposure across related companies. |
Licensed and expanding coverage
Public records are the foundation. We also onboard additional public and proprietary datasets when they pass licensing and quality review — without publishing partner names or mechanics on this site. Your report names which source families contributed; pilots can discuss coverage depth for your sector.
What reports tell you about coverage
- Source references — each flag links to the underlying record or article.
- Scored date — when the risk assessment was calculated.
- Coverage metadata — which source families were checked for that entity.
- Match confidence — how strongly the name you searched matched our resolved entity profile.
Material decisions should always be verified against the cited primary source. BRIA is screening intelligence — not a substitute for legal advice or a credit bureau score.
Adding coverage
New datasets enter through the quality gate in Our process. Tell us your sector and counterparties when you book a pilot — we prioritise feeds that improve outcomes for active customer portfolios. Shipped updates appear on What's new.
